Berger Picard

The Berger Picard is an energetic, loyal, and sweet dog. They get along well with children and are known to guard other animals in the family. Berger Picards are alert and learn quickly, but they need an owner who can teach them right from wrong and keep them in line.

The Berger Picard’s coat is thick, harsh, and strong  and comes in grey, red-grey, grey-black, blue-grey, and light or dark fawn. They’re low maintenance when it comes to grooming, requiring brushing once or twice a month during shedding season and even less during the rest of the year. The Picard’s coat is waterproof too, so it repels most dirt and doesn’t need bathing often.

Berger Picards are pack dogs that need to feel like a member of the family. They don’t do well if they’re isolated, so make sure to keep them as indoor dogs where they can be around people. The Picard gets along well with kids, dogs, and cats, but they need early socialization to prevent shyness.

The Berger Picard is an active breed that needs a lot of exercise. They enjoy long walks each day, swimming, jogging, and any activity that involves the family. These dogs love having a job to do, especially if you’re by their side. With plenty of activity, affection, and treats, your Berger Picard will be a happy camper.
