If they look or smell funny, it might be the sign of an infection.

Run a piece of food with a familiar scent through the grass in your backyard and place it in a hidden spot. Then, let your Istrian Short-Haired Hound out of the house to sniff around. The sheer excitement of working to find the food may even be more rewarding than the actual treat! Overall, you can plan to spend a couple hours each day exercising these high-energy hounds.
