Welsh Springer Spaniels have a gorgeous red and white coat with feathering along their chest, underside, and legs. You’ll want to brush their coat at least twice a week and after every time they’ve gone hunting. These bushings will help prevent matting and tangling, as well as cut down on the amount of hair you find on your furniture.

Welsh Springer Spaniels are happiest in situations where they have a large space to play but can come back inside afterward. They are people-loving dogs who don’t do well living outdoors permanently. Welsh Springer Spaniels have a gentle nature and get along well with children and other pets, especially if they are raised around them.

Welsh Springer Spaniels are natural born hunters with a keen sense of smell. They will always enjoy a good hunt and will follow their noses wherever they take them. Non-hunting families can keep a Welsh Springer Spaniel occupied by taking them out for walks or getting them involved in doggie athletics. You’ll want to plan on giving them about an hour of exercise every day to keep them happy and healthy.
